It was also published in the Schenectady Daily Gazette (written by The Washington Post, by journalists Max Bearak and Laris Karklis, on Wed April 12, 2017. The title was: "Wars in 4 countries brings famine to 20 million")

As defined by the United nations: "famine occurs when a region’s daily hunger-related death rate exceeds 2 per 10,000.”

Why should we help REFUGEES? To help protect Families WHO ARE Fleeing Violence and Persecution- there are 65 million worldwide! Migrants in Europe are being held in filthy, overcrowded conditions with inadequate access to food, clean water and medical care. Authorities, governments (and us individuals too) have an obligation to ensure that refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants be treated humanely and that their rights are respected. Our goodwill efforts, and our gift will help to protect the rights of refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants in Europe and around the world.
See the images below to get an idea of this immense humanitarian crisis.
