RECYCLING PROGRAM- HOW TO START ONE...
in your home, office, parish and/or work location- it is EASY, and it's GOOD FOR EVERYONE! Here's how you can do it!

STEP 1
INFORM/educate others, employees/parishioners- why this is important (recycling plastic bags, glass, metal containers/jars/bottles/cans).
You can educate/inform others about ocean plastic pollution by showing the documentary film: A PLASTIC OCEAN (see both trailers on You Tube- and the full length movie can be purchased it on Amazon- like i did- I guarantee you that it will motivate everyone to act!). To inform others, you can use one of my presentations, on the Oceans, that addresses 3 questions; Why the Ocean is important, how we are destroying it, and how we can save it. STEP 2
Get recycling containers (for glass, plastic and metals), label them and place around the bldg (especially the kitchen and the office areas- near your garbage containers). Make sure that you also have separate containers for redeemable, like soda/beer cans, plastic water bottles, etc. so, that you can get your 5 cent deposit back. This money could be donated to someone in need and/or a charitable agency (the poor).
Recycling containers should have lids (at the top) with a hole in the middle, and the words: RECYCLE ONLY! NO GARBAGE! In this bin, put Plastic/glass bottles, thin cans, glass. Thank you!
Redeemable bins should say: REDEEMABLE ONLY! No GARBAGE! Only soda cans, water/beer bottles! Thank you!

STEP 3
Get a large outdoor SINGLE STREAM reclining container, (this will be filled with your non-refundable plastic, metals and glass) for each building. The city will pick them up.

I suggest the Feast of Saint Francis to announce it your recycling program (at your work place, your parish, etc), because- like St. Francis- we care for God's Creation. Or better yet, start ASAP, as soon as possible! So, that you can start taking care of the earth right now! Good luck!
