A PLASTIC OCEAN 
 is a wonderful, interesting and inspiring documentary film about ocean pollution and solutions to save it from our trash. 

A Plastic Ocean is an adventure documentary shot on more than 20 locations over the past 4 years. It shows extent of the damage that our plastic trash has inflicted on the oceans, but it also offers solutions and what we as individuals can do to lessen this global threat and avoid a catastrophe.

Time: 102 min (1 hr. and 42 min)

This film was made in 2011 by journalist, filmmaker and adventurer Craig Leeson. He set out to make a documentary on whales, but then, noticing all that plastic in the ocean, he changed the main message. Featured also, in this movie, Tanya Streeter, the 1st woman to beat a man's record! For deep diving (into the sea)! without oxygen tanks! About 4 minutes!

I have watched this documentary film at home and in school with my students and colleagues. It is an eye opener! A Plastic Ocean will show you how we are ruining our oceans with our throw-away plastic. However, the beauty of this film is that it will also show you the solutions, and will inspire/motivate you to act! I’m living proof of it!

Think about it- 8 MILLION pounds of plastic/year end up in the sea! It's unfortunate and sad, but we can’t deny the fact that are destroying our oceans, and our future. In fact, marine biologists predict that within 2 generations (our grandchildren) may not have an ocean, hence, the earth may no longer be a livable planet!

Marine biologists also think that there's more plastic in the earth's oceans than plankton (fish food)! Isn't this scary?
