The following is just a brief summary of the most important points about the Ten Secrets. These points are taken from the more detailed information in this section about the Ten Secrets. Even though Our Lady does not speak a lot about the secrets, She does speak about them, so they are an important part of Our Lady’s plans in Medjugorje. The visionaries tell us that everything Our Lady does has profound meaning. If Our Lady has chosen to give the six visionaries ten secrets that will be used to bring worldwide conversion to the world, we need to pay attention to what She has said and done in regard to the secrets which have yet to be revealed. There are those who want to hush talk about the secrets. The question should then be posed, “Why did Our Lady let the visionaries tell that they have secrets?” Our Lady, while not wanting at this moment to reveal their contents, does want us to know there are 10 secrets, and we know enough that some are very grave. Yes, Our Lady wants very much for us to know there are secrets and for that knowledge to be an impulse for conversion now, not to wait for the secrets, because then it will be too late for many. So to those who say there should be no interest in the secrets or that one should not wonder about them, this is a contradiction of Our Lady’s intent that Her children know about the secrets.

• Our Lady is giving Ten Secrets to the Medjugorje visionaries that will bring worldwide conversion to the world.

• God is giving so much time for these apparitions, so that all may come to conversion.

• Three of the visionaries, Mirjana, Ivanka, and Jakov have all ten secrets and no longer see Our Lady daily.

• Marija, Vicka, and Ivan have nine secrets.

• The third secret will be a lasting sign on Apparition Mountain that will be permanent, indestructible, and beautiful and will appear spontaneously.

• The sign will appear on the mountain in such a way that unbelievers won’t have words to say what it is.

• Mirjana received a physical parchment from Our Lady with the ten secrets written on it, as well as the day and date each of them will occur.

• During the time of the ten secrets, one of the visionaries will still have daily apparitions.

The Beginning (of the Garabandal's Visions of Mary)

Garabandal is a small village in northern Spain, in the Santander province, near the Picos de Europa mountains, a rugged and beautiful setting. Its full name is San Sebastian of Garabandal. It is located 600 meters above sea level, some 57 miles from the capital of the province. To get there one must climb steep, poor roads. No more than 300 people live in Garabandal. The town is impressively quiet. There is no doctor in the town and no resident pastor at the parish church. The pastor from Cosio, the next town down the road, used to celebrate Mass there on Sunday.
In the evening of June 18, 1961, four girls were playing on the outskirts of the town - Conchita Gonzalez, Maria Dolores (Mari-loli) Mazon, Jacinta Gonzalez and Maria Cruz Gonzalez (not related despite having the same name.) Maria Cruz was eleven, the others twelve, and all were from poor families.
Suddenly they heard a loud noise, like thunder, and saw before them the bright figure of the Archangel Michael. On the following days the Archangel appeared to them again in the same place. He announced that on July 2 they would see Our Lady. This was the beginning of the Garabandal events.

Our Lady of Carmel
The news spread quickly through the region. July 2 was a Sunday and the town was crowded. There were people from all social levels and very many from out of town, among them several physicians and priests. At six in the evening the girls went to the place where the Angel had appeared, and to the surprise of the crowd they entered into ecstasy. Our Lady appeared to them accompanied by two angels, one being St. Michael. The girls described the vision as follows:

"She is dressed in a white robe with a blue mantle and a crown of golden stars. Her hands are slender. There is a brown scapular on her right arm, except when she carried the Child Jesus in her arms. Her hair, deep nut-brown, is parted in the center. Her face is long, with a fine nose. Her mouth is very pretty with lips a bit thin. She looks like a girl of eighteen. She is rather tall. There is no voice like hers. No woman is just like her, either in the voice or the face or anything else. " Our Lady Manifested herself as Our Lady of Carmel."

The Warning (from Mary at Garabandal)
Conchita wrote: "The warning comes directly from God and will be visible to the whole world and from any place where anyone many happen to be. It will be like the revelation of our sins and it will be seen and felt by everyone, believer and unbeliever alike irrespective of whatever religion he may belong to. It will be seen and felt in all parts of the world and by every person."
It will happen in the sky, no one can prevent it form happening. We will even prefer to be dead rather than to pass through this Warning It will not kill us. It will be a "correction" of our conscience. It will cause great fear and will make us reflect within ourselves on the consequences of our own personal sins. It will be like a warning of the punishment to come. In this way the world will be offered a means of purification to prepare itself for the extraordinary grace of the Great Miracle.
Jacinta was told by Our Blessed Mother "that the warning would come when conditions were at their worst." The date was not revealed to the visionaries, however Mari-Loli does know the year; and she said that The Miracle will happen within one year after The Warning.

The Punishment
If we do not pay attention to the message, the punishment announced by Our Lady will be visited on the whole world after The miracle. During one of their ecstasies the girls were heard praying for the innocent children but, nevertheless, they shed tears at the same time. Since the day they learned about the punishment they have developed a great spirit of sacrifice. They pray very much for sinners and for priests. They often say that if priests are not what they should be many souls will be lost.
Conchita has written:
"I cannot reveal what kind of punishment it is except that it will be a result of the direct intervention of God, which makes it more terrible and fearful than anything we can imagine. It will be less painful for innocent babies to die a natural death than for those babies to die because of the punishment. All Catholics should go to confession before the punishment and the others should repent of their sins. When I saw IT (the punishment), I felt a great fear even though at the same time I was seeing Our Blessed Mother. The punishment, if it comes, will come after the miracle"
When Our Lady spoke to the girls of the punishment, her face assumed a look of great sadness. The girls revealed: "We have never seen her look so serious. When she said the words 'The cup is already filling', she spoke in a very low voice."

THIS IS A LETTER WRITTEN ON THE THREE DAYS OF DARKNESS BY ONE OF THE GREATEST SAINTS ...

"Hurricanes of fire will pour forth from the clouds and spread over the entire earth! Storms, bad weather, thunderbolts and earthquakes will cover the earth for two days. An uninterrupted rain of fire will take place! It will begin during a very cold night. All this is to prove that God is the Master of Creation. Those who hope in Me, and believe in my words, have nothing to fear because I will not forsake them, nor those who spread My message. No harm will come to those who are in the state of grace and who seek My mother's protection."

From translation of a copy of a personal letter written by Padre Pio addressed to the Commission of Heroldsbach appointed by the Vatican that testifies to the truth and reality of these revelations on the Three Days of Darkness given by Our Lord to Padre Pio, a Capuchin priest who bore the stigmata.
JANUARY 28, 1950
Keep your windows well covered. Do not look out. Light a blessed candle, which will suffice for many days. Pray the rosary. Read spiritual books. Make acts of Spiritual Communion, also acts of love, which are so pleasing to Us. Pray with outstretched arms, or prostrate on the ground, in order that many souls may be saved. Do not go outside the house. Provide yourself with sufficient food. The powers of nature shall be moved and a rain of fire shall make people tremble with fear. Have courage! I am in the midst of you.

FEBRUARY 7, 1950
Take care of the animals during these days. I am the Creator and Preserver of all animals as well as man. I shall give you a Few signs beforehand, at which time you should place more food before them. I will preserve the property of the elect, including the animals, for they shall be in need of sustenance afterwards as well. Let no one go across the yard, even to feed the animals--he who steps outside will perish! Cover your windows carefully. My elect shall not see My wrath. Have confidence in Me, and I will be your protection. Your confidence obliges Me to come to your aid.

    The hour of My coming is near! But I will show mercy. A most dreadful punishment will bear witness to the times. My angels, who are to be the executioners of this work, are ready with their pointed swords! They will take special care to annihilate all those who mocked Me and would not believe in My revelations.

    That you may be prepared for these visitations, I will give you the following signs and instructions: The night will be very cold. The wind will roar. After a time, thunderbolts will be heard. Lock all the doors and windows. Talk to no one outside the house. Kneel down before a crucifix, be sorry for your sins, and beg My Mother's protection. Do not look during the earthquake, because the anger of God is holy! Jesus does not want us to behold the anger of God, because God's anger must be contemplated with fear and trembling.
    Those who disregard this advice will be killed instantly. The wind will carry with it poisonous gases which will be diffused over the entire earth. Those who suffer and die innocently will be martyrs and they will be with Me in My Kingdom.
    Satan will triumph! But after three nights, the earthquake and fire will cease. On the following day the sun will shine again. angels will descend from Heaven and will spread the spirit of peace over the earth. A feeling of immeasurable gratitude will take possession of those who survive this terrible ordeal-the impending punishment-with which God has visited the earth since creation.
    I have chosen souls in other countries too, such as Belgium, Switzerland. Spain, who have received these revelations so that other countries also may be prepared. Pray much during this Holy Year of 1950. Pray the Rosary, but pray it well, so that your prayers may reach Heaven. Soon a more terrible catastrophe shall come upon the entire world, such as never before has been witnessed, a terrible chastisement never before experienced! The war of 1950 shall be the introduction to these things.
    How unconcerned men are regarding these things! which shall so soon come upon them, contrary to all expectations. How indifferent they are in preparing themselves for these unheard of events, through which they will have to pass so shortly!
    The weight of the Divine balance has reached the earth! The wrath of My Father shall be poured out over the entire world! I am again warning the world through your instrumentality, as I have so often done heretofore.
    The sins of men have multiplied beyond measure: Irreverence in Church, sinful pride committed in sham religious activities, lack of true brotherly love, indecency in dress, especially at summer seasons...The world is filled with iniquity.
    This catastrophe shall come upon the earth like a flash of lightning at which moment the light of the morning sun shall be replaced by black darkness! No one shall leave the house or look out of a window from that moment on. I Myself shall come amidst thunder and lightning. The wicked shall behold My Divine Heart. There shall be great confusion because of this utter darkness in which the entire earth shall be enveloped, and many, many shall die from fear and despair.
    Those who shall fight for My cause shall receive grace from My Divine Heart; and the cry: "WHO IS LIKE UNTO GOD!" shall serve as a means of protection to many. However, many shall burn in the open fields like withered grass! The godless shall be annihilated, so that afterwards the just shall be able to stand afresh.
    On the day, as soon as complete darkness has set in, no one shall leave the house or look from out of the window. The darkness shall last a day and a night, followed by another day and a night, and another day--but on the night following, the stars will shine again, and on the next morning the sun shall rise again, and it will be SPRINGTIME!!
    In the days of darkness, My elect shall not sleep, as did the disciples in the garden of olives. They, shall pray incessantly, and they shall not be disappointed in Me. I shall gather My elect. Hell will believe itself to be in possession of the entire earth, but I shall reclaim it!
    Do you, perhaps, think that I would permit My Father to have such terrible chastisements come upon the world, if the world would turn from iniquity to justice? But because of My great love, these afflictions shall be permitted to come upon man. Although many shall curse Me, yet thousands of souls shall be saved through them. No human understanding can fathom the depth of My love!
    Pray! Pray! I desire your prayers. My Dear Mother Mary, Saint Joseph, Saint Elizabeth, Saint Conrad, Saint Michael. Saint Peter, the Little Therese, Your Holy Angels, shall be your intercessors. Implore their aid! Be courageous soldiers of Christ! At the return of light, let everyone give thanks to the Holy Trinity for Their protection! The devastation shall be very great! But I, Your God, will have purified the earth. I am with you. Have confidence!

I TRE GIORNI DI BUIO
Ci saranno davvero tre giorni di buio sulla terra? Quali le profezie Bibliche che lo confermano?
In sostanza ogni epoca è per i cristiani di Santa Romana Chiesa una scommessa, una profezia avverata o nuova: basta sfogliare il Vangelo per renderci conto che la Chiesa, e noi se siamo con Lei, sarà perseguitata fino alla fine, fino al ritorno glorioso dello Sposo, Giudice Divino, Capo della Chiesa. Qualunque cosa accadrà infatti, ci consola il Signore: le porte degli inferi non prevarranno. (Mt 16,18) Dunque (la Beata Taigi), consigliera spirituale di futuri santi come Vincenzo Pallotti, Gaspare del Bufalo, Vincenzo M. Strambi, così racconta la Beata di aver visto nel futuro della Chiesa e del mondo: “Dio manderà due castighi: uno sarà sotto forma di guerre, rivoluzioni e altri mali; avrà origine sulla terra. L’altro sarà mandato dal Cielo. Verrà sopra la terra l’oscurità immensa che durerà tre giorni e tre notti. Nulla sarà visibile e l’aria sarà nociva e pestilenziale e recherà danno, sebbene non esclusivamente ai nemici della Religione.
Durante questi tre giorni la luce artificiale sarà impossibile; arderanno soltanto le candele benedette. Durante tali giorni di sgomento, i fedeli dovranno rimanere nelle loro case a recitare il Rosario e a chiedere Misericordia a Dio. Tutti i nemici della chiesa (visibili e sconosciuti) periranno sulla Terra durante questa oscurità universale, eccettuati soltanto quei pochi che si convertiranno.
L’aria sarà infestata da demoni che appariranno sotto ogni specie di orribili forme. Dopo i tre giorni di buio, San Pietro e San Paolo […] designeranno un nuovo papa. Allora il Cristianesimo si diffonderà in tutto il mondo.”

COME INTERPRETARE QUESTA PROFEZIA? NE HA PARLATO SOLO LEI?
San Gaspare del Bufalo: anche lui ha profetizzato i tre giorni di buio. San Gaspare del Bufalo era devoto della Beata Taigi e canonizzato da Pio XII il 12 giugno 1954) disse, probabilmente rifacendosi alle parole della Beata Taigi alla quale credeva molto: “La morte degli impenitenti persecutori della Chiesa avverrà durante i tre giorni di buio. Colui che sopravviverà ai tre giorni di tenebra e di pianto, apparirà a se stesso come l’unico sopravvissuto sulla terra, perché di fatto il mondo sarà coperto di cadaveri”.
La beata Maria di Gesù Crocifisso (assai stimata da Pio IX e beatificata da Giovanni Paolo II il 13 novembre 1983) dice: “…Durante l’oscurità che durerà tre giorni, la gente che si è data alle vie del male perirà, così che solo un quarto del genere umano sopravviverà …”.
Un’ altra beata, Elisabetta Canori Mora (stimata da Leone XIII, beatificata il 24 aprile 1994 da Papa Giovanni Paolo II) descrive: “Il cielo si ammantò di nera caligine, scoppiando i fulmini più tremendi, dove incenerivano, dove bruciavano; la terra, non meno che il cielo, era sconvolta. I terremoti più orribili, le voragini più rovinose facevano le ultime stragi sopra la terra. In questa guisa furono separati i buoni cattolici dai falsi cristiani.
Molti di quelli che negavano Dio lo confessavano e lo riconoscevano per quel Dio che egli è. Tutti lo stimavano, lo adoravano, lo amavano.
Tutti osservavano la sua santa legge. Tutti i religiosi e religiose si sistemavano nella vera osservanza delle loro regole. Il clero secolare era l’edificazione della santa Chiesa. (…) …una enorme oscurità si abbatterà sulla terra … puniti gli empi con morte crudele, demoliti questi indegni luoghi, vidi ad un tratto rasserenare il cielo, si vide sulla terra apparire un grande splendore, che annunziava la riconciliazione di Dio con gli uomini; dai santi Angeli fu condotto il piccolo gregge di Gesù Cristo avanti al trono del gran principe san Pietro.
Questo gregge era quel suddetto gregge di buoni cristiani, (…) fu così riordinata tutta la Chiesa secondo i veri dettami del santo Evangelo, tutto era ordinato all’amore di Dio e del prossimo.”

Questi sono solo alcuni riferimenti ad altri santi e beati per confermare che non fu solo la beata Taigi a parlare di questa profezia. In questo libro, tutte le profezie a riguardo di questo importante momento. Ma, in definitiva, dobbiamo chiederci che tipo di sole potrebbe mai sorgere domani sulle nazioni e stati nei quali per legge si è sovvertito il piano di Dio sulla famiglia? Quale nazione o stato potrebbe pretendere di vedere splendere domani il sole, se uccide il proprio futuro attraverso l’aborto legalizzato?
È ovvio e del tutto naturale che prima o poi la resa dei conti dovrà venire ed è meglio prima, con tre o quattro giorni di buio che non con il Giudizio di Dio descritto nell’Apocalisse, il famoso Dies irae, il giorno della vendetta di Dio perché questo è il tempo della Misericordia: infatti finché ci saranno anime predilette che ci metteranno in guardia dai pericoli che corriamo, anche dovessimo affrontare persecuzioni e malattie, dobbiamo essere certi che la Misericordia di Dio è in atto e che ci richiama alla conversione. Diversamente è la Bibbia stessa che ci ammonisce:
Dies irae, dies illa, dies tribulationis et angustiae, dies calamitatis et miseriae, dies tenebrarum et caliginis, dies nebulae et turbinis, dies tubae et clangoris super civitates munitas et super angulos excelsos.
(l’ispirazione dell’inno è biblica, dalla versione latina della Vulgata del libro di Sofonia 1,15-16: Giorno d’ira quel giorno, giorno di angoscia e di afflizione, giorno di rovina e di sterminio, giorno di tenebre e di caligine, giorno di nubi e di oscurità, giorno di squilli di tromba e d’allarme sulle fortezze e sulle torri d’angolo). ANCHE LA BIBBIA NE PARLA

Immagine che rappresenta uno dei momenti descritti nell’Apocalisse. Per concludere e per confermare queste profezie basta sfogliare la Bibbia che molte volte parla di questi giorni di buio. Ne citiamo alcuni passi:
Poiché le stelle e le costellazioni del cielo non far più brillare la loro luce, il sole s’oscurerà fin dalla sua levata, e la luna non farà più risplendere il suo chiarore. Isaia 13,10
La luna sarà coperta di rossore, e il sole di vergogna; poiché l’Eterno degli eserciti regnerà sul monte di Sion ed in Gerusalemme, fulgido di gloria in presenza de’ suoi anziani. Isaia 24,23 (le ho aggiunte io, ok?)
Infatti così parla il Signore: «Tutto il paese sarà desolato, ma io non lo finirò del tutto. A causa di ciò, la terra è afflitta, e i cieli di sopra si oscurano; perché io l’ho detto, l’ho stabilito, e non me ne pento, e non ritratterò». Geremia 4,23-28
Quando ti estinguerò, velerò i cieli e ne oscurerò le stelle; coprirò il sole di nuvole, la luna non darà la sua luce. A causa di te, oscurerò tutti gli astri che splendono in cielo e stenderò le tenebre sul tuo paese. Ezechiele 32,7-8
Giorno di tenebra e di caligine, giorno di nube e di oscurità […] la terra trema, i cieli sono scossi, il sole e la luna si oscurano, le stelle perdono il loro splendore. Gioele 2,2.10
Farò prodigi nei cieli e sulla terra: sangue, fuoco, e colonne di fumo. Il sole sarà cambiato in tenebre, e la luna in sangue, prima che venga il grande e terribile giorno del Signore. Gioele 2,30-31
Il sole e la luna s’oscurano, e le stelle ritirano il loro splendore. Gioele 3,15
Non sarà forse tenebra e non luce il giorno del Signore, e oscurità senza splendore alcuno? Amos 5,20
In quel giorno – oracolo del Signore Dio – farò tramontare il sole a mezzodì e oscurerò la terra in pieno giorno! Amos 8,9
Il gran giorno dell’Eterno è vicino; è vicino, e viene in gran fretta; s’ode venire il giorno dell’Eterno e il più valoroso grida amaramente. Quel giorno è un giorno d’ira, un giorno di distretta e d’angoscia, un giorno di rovina e di desolazione, un giorno di tenebre e caligine, un giorno di nuvole e di fitta oscurità. Sofonia 1,14-15(ultime tre le ho aggiunte io, ok?)
Troviamo dei riferimenti anche nelle parole di Gesù:
“…. è necessario che tutto questo avvenga, ma non è ancora la fine. (..) Il sole si oscurerà, la luna non darà più la sua luce, gli astri cadranno dal cielo e le potenze dei cieli saranno sconvolte (..) Vegliate dunque, perché non sapete in quale giorno il Signore vostro verrà”. Matteo 24,1-48
“In quei giorni, dopo quella tribolazione, il sole si oscurerà e la luna non darà più il suo splendore; le stelle cadranno dal cielo e le potenze che sono nei cieli saranno scrollate”. Marco 13, 24-25
“Vi saranno segni nel sole, nella luna e nelle stelle; sulla terra, angoscia delle nazioni, spaventate dal rimbombo del mare e delle onde; Gli uomini verranno meno per la paurosa attesa di quello che starà per accadere al mondo; poiché le potenze dei cieli saranno scrollate”. Luca 21,25-26

“Guardai di nuovo quando l’Agnello aprì il sesto sigillo; e si fece un gran terremoto; il sole diventò nero come un sacco di crine, e la luna diventò tutta come sangue; le stelle del cielo caddero sulla terra come quando un fico scosso da un forte vento lascia cadere i suoi fichi immaturi. Il cielo si ritirò come una pergamena che si arrotola”. Apocalisse 6,12-14
Mi raccomando ora: non andiamo dicendo che Dio è cattivo e vuole metterci paura! Le profezie ci avvisano che se non ci convertiamo a Cristo, se non viviamo coerentemente i Suoi Comandamenti, ci attireremo questi flagelli, perché senza Dio c’è solo il male, l’oscurità, le tenebre, la paura e la morte.
Questo è il tempo della Misericordia di Dio: convertiamoci e crediamo al Vangelo, prima che sia troppo tardi.
